Atco Volunteer Fire Company #1

Did you know:
Atco Volunteer Fire Company #1 is non-profit organization that has been active in the community since 1915. The merger of Atco Vol. Fire Co. #1, Louden Vol. Fire Co. , and Dunbarton Fire Co. in 1993, consolidated the community’s fire fighting resources. However, the Atco Vol. Fire Co. #1 is still doing its part in fostering community involvement. The purpose of this organization is to support the members of the Waterford Township Fire Department as they provide the highest level of of Firefighting, Rescue, Fire Prevention, and Public Education to the residents of Waterford Township.

Each year, the Atco Volunteer Fire Company proudly presents the Carl Hasselhan Memorial Fund Scholarship.
This scholarship was created to honor the memory of Firefighter Carl Hasselhan. Carl was an Atco Volunteer Firefighter who lost his life in the line of duty on October 20, 1979. It is awarded to someone who serves, or has family that serves, in a branch of public safety in Waterford Township.

The Carl Hasselhan Memorial Scholarship was awarded to two recipients this year.
Congratulations to Jack Taylor and Brooke Tyndale.
